Rock Band & Flex Band Auditions Open!
If you’re interested in playing in a rock band or flex band (mixed instrumental music ensemble), schedule a time to come in for an audition! There is no obligation to join, but we do encourage students to play music together.
All types of musical instruments, voice, and different styles and genres of music will be included. Students should prepare 2 contrasting pieces to perform at the audition.

Why Join a Group?
The goal of the ensemble is to learn to sing as a group, and develop more refined listening skills through vocal balance, blending, tuning, singing in sync with harmonies, and make new friends!
Musicianship Skills
Enhanced Listening - Playing together requires more refined listening to sing in time, in tune, stay balanced, and blend sounds as one unit.
Variety of Styles - Playing a variety of classic to modern songs is an important part of appreciating and experiencing all music.
Social Development
Making Friends - Being in a music group means sharing a common passion for music. Meet other young musicians and make life-long friendships.
Team Work - Each musician has an important role. Working cooperatively together is a crucial part to putting it all together and having fun!
Performances
Sharing the Stage - Learning group performance skills and sharing music with others is important for confidence, team building, and the sharing the joy of music! Having a performance date also gives a timeline to achieve the goals set.
Community - Music ensembles may have the opportunity to perform in the public. This gives participants an opportunity to learn outreach and give back to their local community.
It’s really cool because it’s not just connections you make as musicians, but connections you make as people that you wouldn’t normally make.

School Assemblies
Little School of Music is offering FREE Assemblies to teach students “The 4 Laws of Focus” at elementary schools across the Santa Clarita Valley.
Our “edutaining” music class will combine familiar musical instruments, styles, and live music into a challenging discipline that is great for developing both physical and mental focus.
Qualified music instructors will get your students movin’ and groovin’ in an energetic assembly designed to introduce students to the basic elements of music, it’s history, and some of the traditions used in performances. The assembly will also show students how to improve performance in both music and academics by learning and applying the “4 Laws of Focus.”
Be on the lookout for Little School of Music coming to your school!
Rockschool Recorded Exams
On September 21st and 22nd Little School of Music will be offering FREE recorded Rockschool Exams to help students with their submissions. All you need to do is come prepared with your instrument, cables, music, and tracks, and we will take care of the rest.
Student will record their complete exam 2 times and select the one they (and their teacher) feel is best to submit. If you are ready to record your exam, please schedule a time with the front desk: 661-222-2239
Music Creators Course
We are super excited about the launch of our new Music Creators Course! This will include a collection of classes to help young budding music creators make and keep their own original music (even without any musical experience).
The Music Creators Course is a collection of music creator sessions each with a variety of classes taught by different Instructors. The purpose is to encourage collaboration among staff and students, as well as individual creativity through project-based learning.
Classes will meet during the same 12-week session term and include some overlap by design. The classes should work together to teach the skills needed to achieve the final outcome/goal as a tangible project.
The first session is called SONGMAKERS.
